Welcome to my blog! You might be thinking, "365 Lemontinis? Is this a drinking game blog?" Nah. Just my upgraded concept of making lemonade when life hands you lemons. (Let's face it Lemontinis are much more exciting than plain ol' lemonade! And only if you are of age mind, I don't endorse underage drinking!!) I hope this will be a fun, creative outlet for me and that anyone reading it gets a kick out of it too. My "Maiden" post was on New Years Eve 2011 and it explains my motivation for this blog (in rather great detail, sorry.) I'll be writing one post a day for the duration of 2012, squeezing the deliciousness out of life even when it's tough.
Thanks for reading!

Will the real Becks please stand up?
Tonight, I've become soberingly (and humiliatingly) aware that I am many different things. Many different things born solely out of what I do on a day to day basis.
I'm many different things, but I'm not at all me.

omg
Only 3 more day's till Hunger Games.
I get chills just watching the trailer, and I really, really hope the movie holds up to the storyline. I know movies are never as good as the books, but this one I've really got my hopes up for. Already pleased with the cast, now they just have to deliver. (Tho I'm not impressed with Woody Harrelson, I imagined more of a Billy Bob, David Duchovny or even Owen Wilson for Haymitch because those guys can play excellent, believable well meaning a-holes, but we'll see. Honestly, I can take or leave Woody, really, but I suppose I could be surprised) now they just have to deliver.
I probably won't get to go opening weekend, but I'm just so excited the movie is almost here I could explode!

zoning out
I've been sitting here on my computer on facebook just staring at it for a few minutes straight, then I snapped out of it and realized I needed to get on here and do what I gotta do. I'm totally in zone out mode right now.
I had a terrible nights sleep last night and haven't had much quality sleep for what feels like ages. Right now my body is sore and achy from working all week around the house/yard and trying to keep up with my four year old. I'm not kidding when I say I could sincerely collapse, I feel like my body is going to give out any second now. The great thing about a string of terrible sleep is that eventually you get a night where you make up for it. I'm so tired right now I can just feel like this is going to be that night. I hope so anyway. I could actually go to bed now, and it's only 8:20pm. I came down from a shower to find my husband busy on his computer, so I let our cat in and then plopped down on the loveseat and actually started to doze off. Since clearly we are not doing anything tonight, the thought to go up to bed is quite appealing. I might just sit here and read until I fall asleep on my book.
Despite how tired I am I can't believe I actually put forth words on here tonight. Half dead and completely zoned out, I amaze even myself sometimes.

I had something I really wanted to post on here but couldn't find it. May have to do some digging tomorrow to see if I can find it.

still at it
I'm still writing on here. I've began a new blog but until I decide that I'm going to stick with it, until it's got some solid staying power, I'm probably going to keep writing on here. No one is reading these anyway so even if it's just something quick and lame, at least I'm still sticking to my plan.
For now, I've left you with some funny demotivationals. Until tomorrow.

well bugger
Another night and I'm sitting torn on what to do about this ol' blog. A part of me wants to delete it entirely because I don't feel like I'm getting what I initially wanted out of it, an outlet. The other part doesn't want to give up on it, because I'm not a give up kind of personality. When I first started, this was really fun and I was feeling like I was getting something out of it. But now I dread getting on, struggling to write something more sufficient than how my day was or "blah I don't want to write," which, lets face it, has been more often than not. Only one person has read all of my posts (that I can tell by the stats they give you on here) and that's my husband. I know I said I didn't care about an audience, and while that's partially true, I feel like not having one has almost stifled my creativity because it seems no one is interested. I didn't want to broadcast this thing but I put a link on my facebook for my close friends and fam to see and even kept the wall post "Becki has recently update her websites," hoping people would be clever and check it out, but I'm afraid my expectations of people's cleverness is much too high. That, or no one cares.
Gonna think on it some more, but I really feel like doing away with this and maybe finding a concept to work with or just sticking to Yelp and Yahoo Answers for my writing need. I think what I really need is a pen name and a blog where I can be unequivocally me to talk about whatever and whomever I wanted without anyone ever knowing it's me.

Winters Bone
With Hunger Games Movie looming on the horizon, I wanted to be properly schooled in my knowledge of Jennifer Lawrence. I already had a small taste when I saw X-Men first class, she played the young Mystique, and did a great job. But I really wanted to get to know her a little better, before I see her in the role of what could arguably be the most historical fictional heroine of our time and beyond.
Tonight we watched Winters Bone. Which, truth be told was well over due, as I've been wanting to see it after having heard about it and been told by several people that I needed to watch it. I've really want to see it ever since it's buzz at last year's Oscars. It was amazing. Amazing cinematography, acting and directing. You get the erie feeling of actually being in the backwoods of the Ozarks, what life might be like down there for those parts. The sights and the sounds of the scenery; from the chirping of the birds, the wind in the trees and the cold grey sky, put you right there, and it's real. It's not typical Hollywood work effects. It was REAL. And the people. A primarily unknown cast held the realism in place. I wouldn't mess with those folks, no way! As for Jennifer Lawrence, I was blown away. She is an incredibly gifted actress and well on her way to becoming one of Hollywoods leading ladies. I can't wait to see her as Katniss Everdeen in a few weeks!
If you haven't seen Winters Bone yet, you must. That's my word, it has been written.

slow net
My internet is running slow tonight so I'm going to keep this short. It's actually going slow because I'm uploading pics to a photo archiving website, so it's using all the juice!
Gonna revamp our bathroom tomorrow, super stoked.
Also considering doing away with this blog. I don't want to, but the point of what I started it for has become lost and most nights I hate that I have to get on and write. So I dunno, gonna sleep on it a few more nights before I decide.

nothing great tonight, you may as well not even read this post
I don't want to write in my blog tonight. But I have to. Because I was stupid and committed myself to a 365 day posting schedule.
So I'm on here to tell you I'm not writing, but I'm going to bed to read Hunger Games (I'm in the middle of my second go, it's AMAZING).
I know my blogs are horrifyingly boring as of late. I hope I can make up for it soon.
Apologies, goodnight.

grumpy
I'm grumpy tonight so I'm going to keep this short. I fell down the stairs last night while carrying my cat to put him out. We have hardwood floors and I slipped and fell straight back onto my forearms and tailbone. I had a terrible nights sleep after that and have been in livid pain all day today. I can't seem to type one sentence on my computer or my phone without botching the spelling and grammar, frustrating the hell out of me. I've seen several people quote Kayne (Imma let you finish) in less than 24 hours....really? and I'm tired of Facebook telling me that one of my friends likes one of their friends (not a mutual friend, someone I don't know) photos. UGH. All I want to do is take a hot shower but I can't because I have no energy to hold myself up for more than 5 minutes at a time and I can't take a bath because of the open sore on my tailbone from where I hit the bottom step.
I just want to sleep for several days, uninterrupted, to attempt to recover and rest and get away from EVERYTHING. But that's not going to happen and that thought makes me even grumpier, THEN I see the dishes piled in the sink at 10:45pm, after this day, and that takes me from grumpier to pissed! Not only can I not take a shower, I'm doing dishes at damn near 11pm. If a stay at home wife/mom falls, or gets sick or has a migraine, she doesn't get a break. She simply has to continue to do all the domestic crap as usual while she's sore from the fall, blowing her nose or going blind in her left eye from a migraine.
So for the first time, I think I really need to provide some lemonade on here since it's been a pretty shitty day. My husband brought home my favorite meal from Panera tonight. I was craving comfort food really badly, the stress of the trauma and the pain left me feeling drained and like I'd never be cheerful again, so I thought eating something warm and savory would help recover at least that much. And it did help to boost my emotional state just a bit. I still hurt like hell, but dinner was good and I had some ice cream as well while we watched Survivor. That and the fact that my daughter for the most part played independently (ok she watched tv for a few hours), and that my fall wasn't more severe (it could have been for sure, I know I lucked out) are my lemonade's for the day.

"Ooooh look at all the flowers mommy."
"I know, I see."
"There's a whole bunch. All the colors."
"Mmm hmmm."
"What is this place mommy?"
"Well it's called a cemetery, my love."
"There people in there?"
"Well....sort of....."
"Oooooh GOSSEEEEEEZZZZZ!!"
Ahhh saved by geese. The "that's where we put our dead," convo will wait another day.

boo
So apparently the moon was in the southern house and jupiter aligned with mars (not kidding, ok well, slightly kidding, I stumbled upon a website that claimed it was the case) early this morning (1240ish am) and I guess if you knew about it, you could set your broom on it's bristles and it would stand up on it's own. Saw a pic from a girlfriend on Facebook that confirms. I'm pissed I missed out on this. Would have LOVED to try.
Oh well. Guess this means it's the dawning of the Age of Aquarius, which if you read up about it, as your Auntie Becks has, you might find it VERY interesting. ~~shrugs~~
