Welcome to my blog! You might be thinking, "365 Lemontinis? Is this a drinking game blog?" Nah. Just my upgraded concept of making lemonade when life hands you lemons. (Let's face it Lemontinis are much more exciting than plain ol' lemonade! And only if you are of age mind, I don't endorse underage drinking!!) I hope this will be a fun, creative outlet for me and that anyone reading it gets a kick out of it too. My "Maiden" post was on New Years Eve 2011 and it explains my motivation for this blog (in rather great detail, sorry.) I'll be writing one post a day for the duration of 2012, squeezing the deliciousness out of life even when it's tough.

Thanks for reading!

Riz & Bifteck Forever!

These are just a few of the many wondrous inside jokes I share with one of my dearest friends. We've known each other since freshman year of HS. We were friends for a long time, we had a falling out for a spell but God saw fit to reunite us and I'm so incredibly blessed that He did. We've had some great nites out since reuniting, and tonight was no exception. In what she dubbed "Becks Belated Bday Girls Nite," for me it was a nite to escape and be in the presence of someone who brings out the nutty side of me. We had dinner at Applebee's and to make me feel special she left no stone unturned by bringing a tiara, a framed photo of us from yesteryear and even saw a movie that might not have been her first pick. She also brought me a .......cake. Hehehe. By the time we were done with dinner we were both in ripe moods, making the other more ripe as the minutes wore on. We watched The Woman In Black and couldn't help ourselves throwing in some Harry Potter jabs now and again. We hung out at her place after the movie, she lit up my .....cake..... like Christmas with 30 candles that burned too fast, I taught her how to clap the whole Happy Birthday song, it took three blows to get the candles out and I blew filaments all over the frosting when I did. She let me slaughter the .......cake.... with a brilliant Cuisinartay knife, took a turn herself then we enjoyed laughing and going thru old HS stuff, making fun of some people who were pretty much on every page in the yearbook while simultaneously attempting sentences that were primarily comprised of the F word.

I love her so dearly, so much that I actually told her about this blog, I haven't actively told anyone yet.

So Riz if you are reading this, thanks for the great night and I love you BIOTCH!

G'nite!

word

745a-330p  Primarily worked on updating my photog books for tax season. I slacked off amazingly during the Year of Darkness and didn't keep good track at all, so I paid for it today. All I have to do is mileage and check a few things in my bank statement then I'm done.  Took some small breaks in-between to use the loo, care for my child, eat, and whip up and pop a cake in and out of the oven.
345p-630pm  Worked on making a two layer fondant cake for my daughter lady's bday on Sunday. I'm 90% done, will do the rest Sat night.
640p-7p  Made and ate dinner. Hubs got a calzone from Minskys and picked me up some sonic chicken strips that I threw buffalo sauce on and put on a loaded salad.
715p-725p Cleaned up kitchen
727p-830p Worked on finishing touches of a large traditional photo album.
Now I'm done. I'm don't know that I've had that much of a productive day yet this year, and I feel very accomplished. The book keeping was no easy task believe you me. So I just had to share, these days are few and far between.
I'm going to congratulate myself with some Finder, Fringe and something chocolatey.
Nite!

one down 11 to go

Good evening. it's the last day of January. 31 days gone in a snap. I'm glad. January was fine, but going into Feb means we're that much closer to spring. Which.actuallyisn't entirely a big deal, seeing that we've been having spring like weather for weeks now. In fact, I really think the winter weather apocalypse is going to take place in April. But still, we're closer to the spring/summer time. I don't mind winter per se, and I don't really want time to go too fast, but I hate the drab and dead scenery, grey sky days and I especially detest being cooped up inside for such long stretches. Yes it's been nice and all, but it's been super windy and not too sunny which makes it tough to get outside and be comfy. Alas, I digress…… I'm so ready for nice weather, longer days and being able to get outside, ergo, happy that January is over.

Sorry, this is very rambley.friends is on in the background and my two 'kids' are playing playdoh in front of me and daughter is a non stop jibber jabberer, so I feel a tad disoriented, thus causing me to ramble on...

Anyway, out of all the days so far in the year, today wasn't the greatest, possibly the worst. Nothing terrible tho, which is always a blessing. Just little things. Every time I went to get onto the highway today, someone was always there tooling along in the right lane, and wouldn't get over despite the fact that they could. SO I either had to jackrabbit out in front of them or slow down to squeeze out behind them. There was a broken light bulb (old kind) in the washer. One of the cats knocked it in there off of a shelf over the washer, and that was a real good time, cleaning that up. Went to pick up a Rx at CVS and they needed our new Rx card, which of course, I didn't have. It got resolved after hubs called them, but the women were snooty and we had to wait there even longer than we would have, which is always long enough the way it is, especially with a fidgety almost 4 year old. Then while I was washing my hands in the kitchen sink before starting dinner, I accidentally knocked over a wine glass in the sink, breaking it. We started with 8 nice wine glasses, 4 for red and 4 for white and I think this puts us down to 3 left? Fragile stuff is just not safe around me, period.

Like I said, in the grand scheme of things, the day could have been a lot worse, just one of those days we're everything is just a bit off kilter making it agitating to get thru the day.

It's over and I'm off for a hot shower and then some relaxing.

I HATE the standard boring text they give us on here and I've discovered I can type my post in my text edit on my MacBook and it will paste into the blog post. I see the different text when I view my blogcan you as well? Or does it default to boring again?

Nite!

Love it!

"Off the top of my head I'd say you're looking at a Bowski, a Jim Brown, a Miss Daisy, two Jethros and a Leon Spinks, not to mention the biggest Ella Fitzgerald ever!"

Here is the breakdown of how that worked:

Carl Reiner's character, Saul Bloom, is the Boesky. That's Ivan Boesky, a hot-shot wall-street trader who got caught committing securities fraud. He's supposed to be a wealthy man to foot the bill who also has some inside information.

The Jim Brown is confrontation between Bernie Mac's character (Frank Catton, the inside man) and Matt Damon (Linus Caldwell) that is staged to distract. It is after a famous football (american) player who later went on to play leg-breaking thugs in a bunch movies. (Don't mess with me or you're in for it.)

The Miss Daisy refers to the SWAT van, their "getaway" vehicle. It comes from the movie, Driving Miss Daisy.

The two Jethros are "hillbilly gear-head types" to take care of Miss Daisy. They are Casey Affleck and Scott Caan (Virgil and Turk Malloy)

The Leon Spinks is the disruption of the boxing match, after Leon Spinks' famous surprise upset victory over Mohammed Ali.

And the Ella Fitzgerald is the tape they make and play in a loop in order to get into the vault. This is based on a Memorex commercial from the 70's in which a recording of Ella's voice breaks a glass and the quesiton is asked, "Is it live or is it Memorex?"
