Folf.
Frisbee golf. Can someone please tell me the point of this sport/game? My inspiration for this subjects comes on the heels of A) not having a thing to write about (the best my husband could do when I asked him to give me a random topic was "fellowship, talk about trivia night at church," or "about how the home improvement continues." I want to fall asleep just thinking about making these blog topics for tonight. Not that either of those are bad or boring, in their own right. Trivia night was a blast, we came in 6th but I love my team and I frankly couldn't care less about winning. The home improvements are indeed continuing, my husband is in progress on our front entry way with the hardwood flooring. Just not great blog matter.) And B) a news story about a local Folf tournament for charity. Now I'm not bagging on the charity part, you could pick boogers in the name of charity and it'd be all good. But I just don't get Folf in general. Golf is already a snooze fest, it's worse than watching swimming. Watching people go back and forth in the pool or watching old guys whack tiny balls around a ridiculously manicured landscape? Between the two swimming would be a treat (and I'm not hatin' I'm a swimmer, I love it. Don't love watching it per se.) Then again if I'm in need of a decent nap I might pick Golf. Then you throw frisbees into the mix. Frisbees are fun on their own, sure. Especially if a hyper dog or child is on the receiving end. But the novelty of just playing frisbee quickly wears off, for me anyway. It becomes even less enticing when you add the golf element. So what is it about Folf that people love so much? Throw disc, then toss a few more times in hopes to make or go under par? Lots of walking/running around. Know what else I can do walking and running? WALKING AND RUNNING! Why does throwing a disc in between make it such a great time?
I just don't get it. Is it just the novel idea of combining the two most boring sports into one? Is it because it requires no significant athletic talent, ergo anyone can partake?? I'm glad people like it and at the very least, it's something else to get people up and moving around and maybe that is ultimately the point. In the world of gaming, facebooking, and tv show obsessiveness...I suppose we can never have enough random outdoor activities, even Folf...I'm sure.
Oh well. Off to bed!

Welcome to my blog! You might be thinking, "365 Lemontinis? Is this a drinking game blog?" Nah. Just my upgraded concept of making lemonade when life hands you lemons. (Let's face it Lemontinis are much more exciting than plain ol' lemonade! And only if you are of age mind, I don't endorse underage drinking!!) I hope this will be a fun, creative outlet for me and that anyone reading it gets a kick out of it too. My "Maiden" post was on New Years Eve 2011 and it explains my motivation for this blog (in rather great detail, sorry.) I'll be writing one post a day for the duration of 2012, squeezing the deliciousness out of life even when it's tough.
Thanks for reading!

odd night
It started out being a good day. Leu had her make up day at school so I got to jack around and pretty much do nothing for the first half of the day (well, not nothing, just worked on sorting photos again for our albums.) Since I cleaned house all day yesterday, I figured I was entitled to just screw around today. Anyway, hubs thought he would make shrimp creole for dinner tonight and I thought it was a splendid idea. No cooking for me and one of my favorite dishes to boot! I had felt fine all day, but I took one bite of dinner and completely lost my appetite. I have no clue why. I ended up just having some plain rice, and could only take a few bites of that. I don't feel ill or nauseated, but for some reason I just had a severe lack of appetite. My back has been bothering me all day, particularly on the lower right side, the pain has been radiating into my abdomen a little and it's all either a product of the cleaning I did yesterday or my degenerative disc in my lower back (or both.) or something else entirely, which I'm of course driving myself to hypochondriac hysterics searching the internet for a possible explaination. Bone cancer? Kidney issues? Lumbosacral Sprain? Not sure if it's connected to the appetite loss or what. I just feel terrible my husband went to all the trouble and it all went to waste. So not only does my back bother me, but it makes me sad that his efforts were in vain. :-(
Shrugs.
Well, I've got some mini-cheese cakes in the oven for our church trivia night. Gonna do a different topping on each one, I'm so excited to see how they turn out!!
Time for Finder and F R I N G E!!

turning in
I'm getting on and writing just to say that I'm turning in for the night. Hubs has a church heads of lettuce meeting tonight and will probably be home closer to ten. I'm exhausted after a night of very odd dreaming and a day with a child who didn't nap along with tons of house cleaning. But it was floor cleaning which is my favorite of all cleaning. I use this amazing wood floor cleaner that smells like amaretto sour and makes my floors look ridiculous. But it plumb wore me out. And child has her make up school day tomorrow which means early rising, so I really just want to get to bed. I'll probably read a chapter or two of Chamber of Secrets (yes I started HP over until I get my paws on Catching Fire and Mockingjay) but I hope to be out before 10.
Peace out!
Peace out!

technology SUCKS
The day was going quite well....
....why is it that when I want to do something unique, special and take the path less traveled, something ALWAYS stands in my way? Sure, I could have gone to party city, picked out pre-made, mass produced, "everyone buys em'" party invites for my daughters birthday. But NO. I took the time to talk to her about what she wanted for a theme, concocted an idea for cute homemade invites, went to hobby lobby, picked out special paper, vellum and stickers and came home and made a text layout in photoshop to go on the vellum. Only my fan-f**king-tastick printer doesn't want to print on vellum. It does however want to give me loads and loads of error messages about the ink tray being stuck or the door being open, which don't seem to be an issue upon inspection. A re-start and 10 retry's later, I am able to print on ONE vellum sheet, just to have it all start over on the bullchit on the second try. So I decide I'm not going to be derailed by this. The printer had been giving me grief lately anyway by making me re-install everything after a power outage or when we turn off the power strip when we leave the house for traveling. So feeling justified, I ventured a trip to sams, and bought a new one. Got it home, made dinner, ate dinner. Started to set up said new printer. Uh oh. Realized it's missing a feature that is literally my bread and butter. CD printing. I'm sure as hell not using one printer for vellum and another for CD's. So the new one is getting returned and for now I'm going to eff around with the old one to see if I can get it going again......be back shortly
Ugh....I HATE technology. Over vellum paper of all things. Seriously??
I mean, really....is it just too much to ask for the sake of creativity? After so long those store bought invites start to look real good. I finally got it all figured out tho! Re-installed all matter of drivers/software for the old printer, and had no issues printing on vellum. Then I accidentally shorted one of the holes on the invites when I was punching them for the ribbon...and of course I was doing a mass punch, so they all have a 3/4 hole at the top. Eye roll. Oh well. They are done and I'm satisfied to say that I don't have to be forced to purchase mass produced branded invitations for my baby's party. Now if I can master a two tier cake with some fondant.....

nadda
Ugh! I sat here literally 20 minutes or so trying to figure out something to write about besides my day. Nothing bad at all happened, it was uneventful and mildly pleasant under the circumstances (daughter stayed home from school with a low grade fever). I completed three loads of laundry, worked on a client's wedding album, unloaded the dishwasher, sent some emails, cleaned up the office, made dinner and waited on my poor listless daughter who watched Thomas videos all day.
I also started sorting photos for several albums of years past I would like to get working on before too long. I need to do everything from 05-2011 and that's a lot. Six years and many of the pics are strewn about because the main camera used for the first chunk of time didn't keep the correct date stamp so I can't sort them in order from year, I have to guess. Lucky for me Joe has an amazing memory and will most likely be recruited into helping me.
I'm sorry. I just have nothing else for you, I am quite uninspired tonight sadly. I hope to try to get creative with my entries soon, just bear with me.

sleepy time cat
8:26am
Thought I'd start with my night last night since I'm trying to be good about writing down dreams and all. There wasn't really much in the way of dreams, but it was an odd night, and I'm very tired this morning because of it.
My tiger striped Norwegian Forest cat decided to sleep with us last night. And not so much with us, but with me, on my pillow, as close to me as physically possible. Now, Hobbs isn't the biggest cat in the world, but he's the biggest cat I've ever had and takes up a significant amount of room. He was adamant on leaving zero space between us. I started the night actually laying in between him and my blissfully unawares husband using a throw pillow because Hobbs decided my entire pillow would be his bed. No biggie, we made it work and it was cozy. Then he shifted, so I shifted. I was able to flip over, hug my pillow the long way at the top, while he snuggled closely to me on the bottom half of the pillow, nestling his nose into my arm. I don't think I got any deep sleep, I was all too aware of him and was worried about smushing him. (A reason that thoroughly stumps me as to how people who co-sleep with actual babies aren't zombies.) Early on he had a bit of a coughing fit, but then was otherwise quiet. When I was drifting in and out of consciousness I kept having waking dreams that he was either sick or dying. A combination of a subconscious (and very conscious) fear of losing him as well as, finding it odd that he was wanting to be so close. It's not unlike him to want to sleep with us, but this guy was being an absolute cuddle machine, which is normal for sitting on the couch, but not usually a co-sleeping behavior of his, especially all night long. So I kept waking all worried for his health. I remember waking up at one point seeing him lying there very still and to my mostly latent consciousness it seemed he wasn't breathing. I remember lifting him up, gently joggling him and rattling off names of kitteh's past before I remembered it was Hobbs. I realized I was just out of it and he was fine, so I held him and cuddled with him more...really hoping my husband was knocked out enough to not notice I had just called Hobbs by several names of cats who are no longer with us, LOL! After that we slept without much incident until he left, and came back a few minutes later, at 445, to go outside. So I kinda slept poorly, but it was nice knowing that my sweetie kitty wanted to be up there and cuddle with me so much. I'd rather have a sleepless night like that than a good nights sleep with no kitteh's at all. AND, I might add that, of all the creepy ass chit that could happen to me when I sleep, that was very mild and I'll take it. I should also mention that all the while I balanced our little Sofie bean on my feet all night too, which is the usual routine and her usual spot. And Hobbs came in about 845 this morning and is already snoozing on the couch.
Ok more later!
736pm
Chillaxin. Hubs and Leu are playing down in the basement playroom and I'm rockin out on my iPod and just got done doing some things around the house. Thought I'd finish this baby up for the evening. I'm not sure how terribly interesting the first part of this entry really is...I haven't read it and not sure if I should. Probably one of those, stupid, no one will care posts, but I just found the situation funny and will enjoy reading about it later. I guess I don't really care if you like it or not. :-) He's actually really riled up right now, sitting on the love seat looking out the window kinda in kitteh wiggin' out mode. He keeps grumbling and flapping his tail agitatedly at what, I cannot determine. Psh. Anwhoo... I'm very proud of myself. I decided to try something new for dinner tonight and kinda lived on the edge a little in the kitchen. I made spinach and mushroom lasagna rolls and totally winged it! Meaning no measuring, no recipe, only wit and creativity to guide me! They actually turned out great! It's one of those recipes I'll be able to fool around with more another time with different fillings.
Alcatraz and Castle on tonight! Eh. I'm so predicable.
See ya tomorrow!

first time he saw me
"I really love that color on you ya know."
"You do?"
"Yeah. You don't wear that one top I really like much anymore."
"Which one? The light blue dress top?"
"Yeah, the one you were wearing the first time I saw you at church."
"Yeah it hasn't fit in a long time, I think I donated it actually."
" :-( "
"I know, I liked that top too."
"Yeah you had that on.....
.....a black skirt.......
........and a Livestrong bracelet."
:-)
